Do You Understand What Allergy Asthma Means?

If you have both allergies and asthma you suffer from allergy asthma but you do you really understand what it means? Both of these have the ability to make you feel miserable. You might be surprised to find out that allergy induced asthma is actually the most common type of asthma in North America.

60% of all those that suffer from allergy asthma. If you are wondering what the link is it really isn?t that complex. Allergies trigger the asthma and the allergies can be caused by a host of tings such as pollen, dust mites, mold, pet dander which trigger an allergic reaction. But instead of runny eyes and nose, or maybe hives the airway becomes inflamed and the swollen airways cause an asthma attack.

The reason that allergies and asthma often merge into allergy asthma is that the lining of the nose and the airways are very similar when they become inflamed all caused by the IgE antibodies which cause all kinds of reactions within the body right from the tight airways to the itchy skin, runny nose, and watery eyes.

In some cases treating the allergy reduces the number of asthma attacks. Allergy shots that desensitize the person are one method of aiding in reducing allergies. You might also consider a more natural approach which would include detoxifying the body and building the immune system.

Preventing an asthma outbreak or allergy outbreak are treated much the same using corticosteroids to reduce inflammation which can help both asthma and allergies. Eve the corticosteroid creams can be used to reduce skin inflammation. And corticosteroids are used in the inhalers which reduce inflammation in the bronchial tubes. So you can see corticosteroids can help with allergy asthma but there are different medications that are more beneficial for each. A different method of treatment is used when a full asthma attack is under way.

A family history of allergies puts you at the highest risk for developing allergy asthma. If you have allergies you have a 75% greater chance of developing asthma or hay fever. Although allergy asthma is by far the most common type it is not the only type.

Asthma triggers can be a variety of things ? cold air, tobacco smoke, dogs or cats, exercise, fumes from paint, dust, and even laughing. When a person that suffers from asthma is anxious they are more likely to have an attack. Some may suffer an asthma attack if they take aspirin or other types of pain medication. The list is long. What?s known for certain is that asthma and allergy asthma are growing at an alarming rate.

Allergy asthma is growing at an alarming rate and it?s hitting children at a younger and younger age. No longer are these problems that adults face. It?s time we start to try to reduce the occurrences.

If you suffer from allergy asthma there are many things you can do to reduce the occurrence. Start by taking good care of yourself and using supplements designed to improve your immune system and reduce your allergies. Now that you understand what allergy asthma means.

Coping With An Asthma Allergy

The number of people being diagnosed with asthma is steadily increasing. This condition is quite bad because there is no idea when a trigger can cause an attack to happen. When you experience your first asthma attack, you might start to panic, or be considerably frightened thinking you were going to die. This is especially scary when whatever you do you cannot catch your breath.

As a result of this asthma allergy, the person suffering from it must be placed on certain types of medication in order to improve the level of airflow and air exchange coming into and out of the lungs. The simplest medication for coping with an asthma allergy is bronchodilators, which expand the airways to exchange more air.

It is important for you as an individual suffering for an asthma allergy to find the best ways to cope with this condition. What everyone experiences will not be the same for everyone, as the symptoms for each person will have its own variation.

Therefore, coping mechanisms need to be established early on to deal with the various allergies that will be encountered. One way of trying to positively cope with asthma is to make an appointment to have allergy tests taken, as a way of discovering what your possible allergens might be. If knowing beforehand that you have an asthma allergy to pollen, then you can safely prepare for the pollen during the season when it appears. In this way you will be better able to cope with your asthma allergy.

Seven Steps Towards an Allergy Free Home

1. Take your shoes off when you enter your home. Pesticides, pollen

and more can get on your shoes and then be transferred to carpets.

2. Idle your car in the driveway or street if you must. Never idle a car in an attached garage! Fumes can seep into the home. Install a carbon monoxide detector in the closest room to the garage for extra safety precautions.

3. Smokers can smoke outside. Smoke travels through a home, so smoking in one particular room is not a healthy alternative. Chemicals from cigarette smoke can remain in an environment for up to 10 years. Smoking in one room of a house is like asking to swim in the un-chlorinated side of the pool. It just doesn't work that way.

4. Use non-toxic cleaning products instead of chemical brands. Toxic ingredients to avoid are chlorine, ammonia, methylene, chloride, phenol, formaldehyde, cresol, and xylene. The fumes from these products can stay on surfaces for days until you absorb them into your skin or breathe them into your lungs. Toxic cleaning products is the #1 reason children end up in emergency rooms.

5. Never mix household cleaning products. The combination of chlorine bleach with an ammonia cleanser. It will give off a toxic gas that is a severe respiratory irritant.

6. Do not let pets in the bedrooms. All pets have dander?and it can be an allergen. We usually spend 6-8 breathing in the bedroom. Keep the bedroom as allergy-free as possible! An air purifier would be a bonus here. Your body needs a chance to rest without having to fight to breathe at the same time!

7. Cover pillows and mattresses with 100% cotton pillow and bedcovers. They are more breathable and product less allergens than plastic and polyester.

We can't choose when we want to breathe. We have to breathe every minute of the day. Shouldn't we be able to breathe clean air indoors?

Vastly Increasing Patients of Latex Allergy

Finding a white collar job is not easy. Since everyone needs money to survive with everyday necessities, any occupation will do. People who usually work in construction sites are more prone to suffer latex allergy.

Latex allergy was first discovered in the late 1970?s. Then, it became a major health concern for all the medical specialists. The patients who are sent to the hospital are also increasing annually. This event alarmed them so they conducted researches to stumble on the needed prevention.

During the early 90?s, the Food and Drug Administration declared that there are about 1000 people who have been victims of latex allergy. The devastating fact is that, 15 deaths were reported out of the thousand patients.

Cause of Latex Allergy

Basically, the root of the problem is the component called latex. Once an allergic individual was able to inhale this, he will probably suffer from the allergy. Likewise, most of the synthetic materials contain latex that is responsible for the allergy symptoms.

Latex Allergy Treatment

Treating the latex allergy can be easy if the patient responds to the advices of the doctors positively. Medications are used in order to reduce the allergy symptoms. Complete latex avoidance is the most effective approach that you can possibly do to alleviate or totally eliminate the allergy in your system.

Establishments must also provide facilities that maintain latex-safe areas to avoid possible clients and customers? from being affected. Since latex is a common problem, tests for latex immunity can be undertaken by a person from professional medical people.

Allergy Treatment And Care Guide

People face some type of allergy to all sorts of things, this may include environmental allergens, odors, fumes, food, and cigarette smoke just to name a few. Allergy treatment and testing is required when symptoms become uncomfortable and occur on a daily basis. With food allergies and small children, the process of elimination is the best way to determine which food is causing the allergic reaction. Allergy testing methods such as skin testing and blood testing are helpful, but some people may respond better to one than the other. Blood testing is particularly helpful in detecting food allergies, but if you know you?re allergic to a certain food, wouldn?t you just not eat it?

Environmental allergies are a little trickier amongst the different types of allergies. There are a number of possible triggers like weeds, trees, pollens, grasses, dust, dust mites, molds, pet dander, chemical fumes, and cigarette smoke that are all popular offenders. Skin allergy testing is a popular method that is used to diagnose different types of allergies that are severe enough to warrant this approach. Allergy treatment can then be prescribed based on the level of reaction to certain irritants. Seeking assistance from a specialist is not required for everyone with allergies. You can find quite a number of over-the-counter medications that are effective in treating symptoms, but for cases where medications don?t work one would need to consult a professional. There are a number of times where allergies are present with other conditions such as eczema and asthma, and should be assessed in conjunction to allergy treatment as they all go simultaneously. As a result of treating allergies, related conditions will either resolve themselves or lessen considerably as allergy treatment progresses.

Prescribed allergy treatment usually consists of immunotherapy which is also known as allergy shots, that expose allergy sufferers to little amounts of the offending allergens in gradually increased doses that over time reduces symptoms. Make sure that substance that triggers severe allergic reactions, for example certain foods like (shellfish, eggs and peanuts) and bee stings is avoided completely. One must remember that avoidance is the only allergy treatment in this case, aside from using an Epi-Pen and/or Benadryl in cases wherein an accidental exposure may take place. People who are afflicted with allergies should try different allergy treatments and combinations in order to experience any significant relief. Over a period of time allergies decreases and may in due course disappear thus requiring a lesser amount of allergy treatment. There are a number of resources online you can look into about allergy treatments like http://ww.allergies.about.com, http://www.medicinenet.com, or http://www.drgreene.com where you will find a world of information about allergy treatments right at your fingertips.

Natural Allergy cures , How to cure your allergies ?

Tips for natural allergy cures

Allergies are the immune system's exaggerated response to a foreign substance.

Exposure to what is normally a harmless substance, such as pollen, causes the immune system to react as if the substance is harmful. Substances that cause allergies are called allergens.

Obtaining natural allergy relief and allergy cures by taking herbs and vitamins are the best route to take without incurring side effects.

Environmental elements such as dust, pollen, and mold seep into your sinuses.

Your body perceives these substances as harmful and reacts by producing histamines.

These histamines come in the form of itching eyes and an itching, runny nose.

One of the most common sinus allergy afflictions is due to hay fever and ragweed. Hay fever is an allergic reaction to your environment.

Hay fever is a chronic condition characterized by sneezing, nasal congestion, runny and itching nose, ears and eyes.

Doctors call it allergic rhinitis.

Most people know it as hay fever and if you've got it - - as 22 million Americans do - - you're likely to be plagued during the spring and fall seasons by such annoying symptoms as sneezing, congestion, runny nose, itchy throat and red, watery eyes.

Hay fever is basically an allergic reaction to pollens from trees, weed and grasses.

Unlike garden flower pollen, which is carried by insects, the dry lightweight pollens which cause allergic rhinitis are generally spread by wind currents which make them difficult to avoid.

Signs and Symptoms of Hay Fever :

* Itchy, red eyes

* Clear discharge from the nose and eyes

* Sneezing

* Fatigue

* Nervousness, irritability

* Sleep loss

Nutritional Supplementation for allergy cures:

* Quercetin stabilizes the membranes of the cells that release histamine. * Echinacea is a natural health remedy to boost the immune system.

* Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory. Take daily, or as needed for symptoms.

*Placing sliced cucumbers on the eyes will help relieve red, itchy eyes.

*Nettle leaf reduces tissue swelling.

* A steam inhalation treatment of basil, peppermint, eucalyptus, or pine can help ease congestion.

* Tiger Balm (available in most stores) contains a blend of beneficial herbs in a wax base. Apply liberally to the chest and neck to help alleviate nasal congestion.

General Recommendations:

* Stay indoors as much as possible during the "allergy season." Keep windows shut and use the air-conditioner when possible. Especially avoid going outdoors in the afternoon, as this is when allergens are at their worst.

* Avoid tobacco smoke.

*Shower and change when you come indoors after spending time outside. Pollen can stick to your hair and clothing.

* Keep pets either inside or outside.

* Try using an air purifier and filter in your home. Make sure and keep the filters to your heater/air conditioner clean (or replace them regularly).

* A study at the University of California-Davis found that eating yogurt every day significantly reduced the incidence of hay fever attacks.

The above remedies take a little time to work, if you want much faster relief, Please visit here

May these health insights and allergy cures help you to live a longer, healthy and happy life.

How To Cure Your Incurable Nasal Allergy

How To Cure Your Incurable Nasal Allergy

 by: Alexander Chong

Immunoglobulin E is an antibody, which is secreted from the white blood cell as a defense agent in our body. It helps us defending bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms, which attack our body. Once the immunoglobulin E attaches to the mast cell, histamine chemical will be secreted from this cell. Histamine is the main cause of nasal allergy. It causes the blood vessel in the mucous membranes swelling and leaking of fluid. Swelling causes congestion inside the nasal passages and the leaking of fluid causes runny nose. When the nasal allergy becomes critical, mucous membranes will become inflammatory and itching.

Because the main cause of the nasal allergy is histamine, therefore, scientist has synthesized a few types of antihistamine medications to block the reaction of histamine with its receptors on cells and reduce the severity of the allergic symptoms. These medications are like diphenhydramine, chlorpheniramine, fexofenadine, loratadine, cetirizine, terfenadine, clemastine and astemizole. Diphenhydramine, chlorpheniramine, cetirizine and clemastine will cause drowsiness. While, fexofenadine and loratadine will cause less drowsiness. Terfenadine and astemizole won’t cause any side effect but they have interact effect with some of the antifungal and antibiotics medication

Besides, corticosteroids hormone is used to reduce the inflammation and itching in the nasal passages. Usually, inflammation is coming together with the nasal allergy. Actually, our body could secrete this hormone by itself from the adrenal gland. It controls the sensitivity of our body immune system. If the level of this hormone in our body is too high, it may cause our immune system inert to the attack from viruses or bacteria. If its level is too low, it will cause us become hypersensitive. Nasal allergy is due to the low level of this hormone. Therefore, applying this hormone onto the mucous membranes (topically) as a nasal spray or taken by mouth (orally) could reduce or prevent inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes by altering the actions of various cells of the immune system. Nowadays, this hormone is the most common medication that the medical doctor will prescribe to the patient who suffers critical nasal allergy. However, utilizing this hormone too frequent could cause some side effects such as burning sensation in the nose, unpleasant aftertaste and nosebleeds.

Nasal allergy could be cured by practicing yoga. Yoga is a stretching exercise combing with deep breathing. Many people are turning to yoga to cure various types of illness such as insomnia, anxiety disorders, back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, diabetes, fibromyalgia , infertility, menopause, shingles, stress and varicose veins. Practicing yoga is more natural than taking medicine and it does not have any side effect as long as you learn it from a qualify instructor. Once you have mastered the technique, you can practice it anytime when you are free.

Nasal allergy also could be cured using natural crystal. The main compound in the crystal is silicon dioxide. The variety of the crystal color is due to the existence of trace amount of transition elements. Different color crystal has different energy. We can see this energy using aura spectrophotometer. Nasal allergy is due to the insufficiency of certain energy in the patient body. By using crystal, nasal allergy patients can increase this energy in their body by absorbing from the crystal. Crystal is a tool that is used to transfer energy from the earth to our body. Our earth is a living planet and there are a lot of creatures living on its surface. Once the crystal energy has been completely consumed, we usually bury this crystal under the soil and let it absorbs the earth energy. Using crystal to cure nasal allergy is the most economic way and easiest method because it can be wore in our body as a wristlet or necklace whenever we want.

Cleaning for Allergy and Asthma Sufferers

My daughter recently had a bout with asthma. The strange
thing is, she hadn't had any problems for a couple of
years. In looking at the possible triggers - She had a new
batch of puppies at her dad's. While the 2 dogs didn't seem
to bother her, the addional puppies seemed to put her over
the edge.

To make matters worse, since we hadn't had problems for a
couple of years, I had become lax in some of the cleaning
that I would have done when she had problems every year.

Once I realized what her problem was, I immediately started
cleaning for asthma. That means thoroughly vacuuming walls,
behind furniture, matresses, pillows, upholstery, screens,
and vents, and dusting every crevice- including things like
behind the tv and stereo inside the cabinet, the backs of
furniture.

I normally dust the ceiling fans and blinds, but if you
kinda skip those, you need to pay more attention if you
have any allergies or asthma in your home.

A quick carpet clean and changing air filters and furnace
filters finishes up the cleaning job.

You also want to change your hand towels everyday, just in case it's a virus triggering the response.

If you have pets, keep them clean and brushed, and their living areas cleaned. Keep pets out of the bedrooms of affected people.

The things that typically trigger asthma is actually pretty long-

House dust mites found in carpeting, mattresses, bed linens,
toys, upholstered furniture, dampness, poor ventilation,
unvented cooking, humidifiers

Animal-derived allergens from dogs, cats, rodents, and birds.

Mold found in carpeting, walls, and windows, caused by leaks, poor ventialtion, water damage, or dampness.

Nitrogen oxides produced by space heaters or gas-fueled
cooking stove, used with poor ventilation.

Wood Smoke from wood stoves or fireplaces, used with
poor ventilation, or faulty equipment causing fumes to
come back into the room.

Fumes from cleaners, aerosols- like hairsprays, perfumes
and even air fresheners, pesticides, formaldehyde found in
some older household products.

Viral respiratory infections - exposure to infected people

Endotoxins from bacteria growing in soil, humidifiers, and
other moist places.

Cockroach allergen

Tobacco smoke

Excess weight.

If there is one thing you can do to minimize allergy or
asthma suffering- it is to become a vacuuming fanatic. The
more you get into that bag, the less you have floating
around in the air. It's healthier, and you'll have less
dusting to do in the long run.
